Popcorn Four Ways Recipe

In Coral Celebration, Marina prepares popcorn four ways to sell in her food truck at the centennial celebration. Whether you like savory rosemary and cheese flavors or sweet caramel and chocolate, there’s a flavor for every taste.

Use your preferred method of preparing the popcorn, such as an air popper, microwave, or cooktop. These easy recipes can be made ahead or prepared hot for movie night. Enjoy!

Rosemary and Parmesan Cheese Popcorn

 

Ingredients: 

½ cup (approx. 100g) unpopped popcorn kernels 
3 tablespoons (45 ml) olive oil
2 tablespoons (approx. 6g) fresh rosemary, finely chopped
½ cup (approx. 50g)grated Parmesan cheese
Sea salt to taste

Instructions: 

  1. Pop the popcorn kernels and place the popcorn in a large bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, mix olive oil and chopped rosemary.
  3. Drizzle the rosemary oil over popped popcorn and toss to coat evenly.
  4. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over popcorn and toss again.
  5. Add sea salt to taste and serve.

 

White and Dark Chocolate Drizzle Popcorn

 

Ingredients: 

½ cup (approx. 100g)unpopped popcorn kernels
4 oz (115g) white chocolate (approx. ½ cup when chopped)
4 oz (115g) dark chocolate (approx. ½ cup when chopped)
Sea salt to taste (optional)

Instructions: 

  1. Pop the popcorn kernels and place the popcorn in a large bowl.
  2. Use a microwave or a double boiler to melt white chocolate and dark chocolate separately.
  3. Drizzle melted dark chocolate over the popcorn, then follow with white chocolate.
  4. For a sweet and savory flavor profile, add sea salt to taste.
  5. Allow the chocolate to cool and harden before serving.

 

Caramel Popcorn

 

Ingredients: 

½ cup (approx. 100g)unpopped popcorn kernels
1 cup (approx. 200g)packed brown sugar
½ cup (approx. 115g) unsalted butter
¼ cup (60 ml) light corn syrup
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking soda

Instructions: 

  1. Pop the popcorn kernels and place the popcorn in a large bowl.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt. Cook over medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil.
  3. Boil for 5 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda.
  4. Pour the caramel over the popcorn and stir to coat evenly.
  5. Spread the popcorn on a baking sheet and bake at 250°F (120°C) for 45-60 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool before serving.

 

Three-Cheese Popcorn

 

Ingredients: 

½ cup (approx. 100g) unpopped popcorn kernels
¼ cup (60 ml) melted butter
¼ cup (approx. 25g) grated Parmesan cheese
¼ cup (approx. 25g) grated Cheddar cheese
¼ cup (approx. 25g) grated Mozzarella cheese
Sea salt, to taste

  Instructions: 

  1. Pop the popcorn kernels and place the popcorn in a large bowl.
  2. Drizzle the melted butter over the popped popcorn and toss to coat.
  3. Combine the Parmesan, Cheddar, and Mozzarella cheeses, then sprinkle over the popcorn.
  4. Toss the popcorn to evenly distribute the cheese.
  5. Add sea salt to taste and serve immediately.
